Governor-elect Linda Haines

Downey

After serving the last two years as District 3 Director, I am very proud and honored to be selected as the Governor-Elect for the Camino Real Region for 2010-2012, and I thank you all for your support. I look forward to continuing to work with Governor Michele as she leads our Region into the next stages of Soroptimist International of the Americas' Renaissance Campaign. Her leadership will keep our Region strong as we continue our goal of improving the lives of women and girls locally and throughout the world.

As all the clubs of the Camino Real Region begin with the new Soroptimist biennium, with respective goals set for each club's service projects and fundraising events, let's keep in mind one of the overall goals of Soroptimist International of the Americas. By keeping SIA in the forefront as our "home" base when it comes to setting up your budgets, your club donations to SIA will benefit even more women and girls locally and on an international level.

Your region Renaissance Chairs met to set their goals for the Region's Strategic Plan for the new biennium. Please make it a point to invite them to your club meetings so they can share information about each aspect of the Renaissance Campaign with your membership. There are also many dedicated women who are available to speak on the various programs of Soroptimist. Please check with any Board member or your District Director for their names and contact information. We look forward to seeing you all throughout the biennium.

Governor-elect Linda Haines

Secretary Mary A. Rogers

Being a Soroptimist is a gift that I give myself every day. It inspires me and humbles me! Serving on the Camino Real Region Board has been a labor of love and continues to keep me enthused about Soroptimist. I have known both Governor Michele and Treasurer Kelly for many years and I cherish the opportunity to take our friendship to a new level. I have especially enjoyed the new friendships I have developed with the other board members. Serving on the board and working with wonderful, charming, professional and hard working women from around the region has been a very special experience. I do feel very strongly about the work that both SI and SIA do throughout the world so I look forward to working within the Camino Real Region to further the goals of Soroptimist.

Treasurer Kelly Fogarty

I am honored to serve as Region treasurer.  In this position I am able to witness all the successes of our clubs in their various projects, and I am particularly proud of the grants which the region makes to our Women’s Opportunity, Ruby, and Violet Richardson Award recipients each year.  In addition to providing organization and accounting for our region finances, I enjoy working together to plan the Fall District Workshop and Spring Conference.  It is a pleasure to work within this organization with its many professional, talented, and dedicated women.

District 2 Director Ana Marie LeNoue

I am very excited to welcome you to our new Camino Real Region website.  As I enter my second year as your District 2 Director, I continue to grow in knowledge and understanding of what it really means to be a Soroptimist.  Locally, I am so proud of all of our clubs programs and events.  Internationally, I am astonished by our collective voice and vision.  Together we truly are making a difference in the lives of women and young girls everywhere.

District 3 Director Patricia Kotze

Downey

I hope you are all as excited as I am that we finally have a new Camino Real Region website that shows who we are and what our mission is, one club at a time. I encourage each President and club in our District to send in your service project dates, awards presentations and pictures so we can post and share our Soroptimist accomplishments with each other. I also want to thank you for your hard work and dedication to our overall CRR results in our region being awarded at the SIA level, for Governor Michele’s theme and fundraising efforts for “There’s No Place Like Home.”

District 4 Director Dora Zavala

I am so excited to begin my second year in this biennium serving you as your District Director. What a privilege it is to take this journey with you; you are an amazing group of dynamic, professional and powerful women! It is because of your unique talents and ability to think outside the box that continues to move us forward as Renaissance clubs, empowering women and girls to “Live their Dreams.” Your membership and commitment as volunteers allows us to help others be and do their BEST.

I am committed to the vision and the growth of Soroptimist International and the Camino Real Region strategic plan. You can count on me to deliver pertinent information, keep us connected, have fun and support you. Congratulations on your “new” club’s leadership positions and I know that together we will make a difference. So let’s live each day to the fullest and choose to step out and LIVE the Dream we each have in our hearts and empower others to do the same. As Eleanor Roosevelt said the “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”. Thank you for fulfilling one of my dreams and allowing me to serve you as District Director.
